These are arranged on an individual basis by the Administration Team at the Centre.
General information concerning all appointments
New Clients - Oxygen Therapy Appointments
Clients who have not had Oxygen Treatment at the Centre before are required to fill out a Client Application Form and attend an initial consultation appointment with a Member of the Centre’s Administration Team. An application form can be downloaded from here.
On completion of the application, registration and induction process and the payment of a small annual membership fee, all new Clients must complete an initial series of 20 consecutive Oxygen Saturation sessions. These 20 initial Oxygen sessions are normally completed at the rate of one session per day, Monday to Friday, over a period of 4 weeks. In the case of certain conditions, and in particular burns and sports injuries, it is possible, and even beneficial, for the frequency of these saturation sessions to be increased to two a day, one in a morning and the other in the afternoon, over a period of 2 weeks.
Upon completion of the Oxygen Saturation sessions further appointments for Oxygen Therapy can be made by the Client according to their individual Therapy Delivery Programme and needs. These can be made by telephone or by speaking directly to a member of the Administration Team.
New Clients - Supporting Therapies Appointments
All appointments as part of a Client’s Therapy Delivery Programme can only be made directly with a member of the Administration Team.
New Clients - The Initial Consultation Appointment
For more information or to arrange for an initial consultation appointment for Oxygen Therapy or a Supporting Therapy, in the first instance please speak to a member of the Centre’s Administration Team or telephone the Centre on (01902) 744888.
Existing Clients - Oxygen Therapy and other Supporting Therapies Appointments
Existing Clients of the Centre can make single or a block of appointments by telephone, speaking directly to a member of the Administration Team. Due to the limited number of available spaces in the pressure chambers used for the Oxygen Therapies we would politely ask that a Client should advise the Centre as soon as possible if an allocated appointment for an Oxygen Therapy session is not required. Similarly with Supporting Therapy sessions, early notice of cancellation will help other Clients who are waiting for an appointment.
Clients from other MS Therapy Centres - Oxygen Therapy Appointments
As an active member of the Multiple Sclerosis National Therapy Centres Charity (MSNTC), the Wolverhampton Centre offers the temporary use of its facilities to any registered client from another member Centre; in the case of being on holiday or working in the area, for instance a prospective out of area Oxygen Therapy user must supply written documentation from the Centre they would normally use to prove completion of an initial course of Saturation Sessions and the depth or ATA pressures at which they receive their regular Oxygen Therapy. An application form requesting temporary use of the facilities at the Centre in Wolverhampton must be completed.
The completion of the temporary use registration process and the payment of a temporary membership fee can be completed at the time of the first Therapy appointment. There is no need for a separate consultation appointment, although we ask that temporary users of the Centre reads the issued handbook thoroughly to make themselves aware of the Centre’s user guidelines.
Thereafter, as a temporary Client and Member of the Centre, single or block appointments can be made by telephone or by speaking directly to a member of the Administration Team. This reciprocal arrangement is also available to our own registered Clients who may need a Therapy when they themselves are away from the Wolverhampton MS Therapy Centre.
Cancellation of Services or Appointments by the Centre
Should it be necessary for the Centre to cancel any or all of its services or appointments on a particular day, perhaps due to weather, breakdown or maintenance, the Administration Team will do whatever is possible to communicate with all of the Clients that may be affected. This may be by telephone, text, e-mail or via social media using Facebook at www.facebook.com/wolverhamptonms.
Under these circumstances the Centre cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience caused or any costs incurred for travel, sustenance or out of pocket expenses for those Clients or members who turn up at the Centre for the cancelled Therapies.
